Role within SRMRC

Christel is a Qualitative Research Fellow, based in the Centre for Patient-Reported Outcomes Research, University of Birmingham. She is currently working on the PRiORiTy project (Patient Reported Outcomes Research in Trauma), which looks at the use of electronic
PROMs in the context of Traumatic Brain Injury. Her main interests lie in using qualitative research to explore and understand patients’ experiences of disease, and improve patient outcomes.

  • Teaching – NVivo, qualitative data analysis, and qualitative research in RCTs.
  • Co-chair – ECRAG (Early Career Research Academic Group).

Biography

Christel obtained her PhD in Queen’s University Belfast and gained experience in Qualitative Research both in various areas (Education, Communication, Management, and Nursing) in Queen’s University Belfast and the Ulster University (Northern Ireland).

Since moving to the Institute of Applied Health Research in the University of Birmingham, she has focused a lot of her work towards using qualitative research in RCTs.
