The team, made up of nurses, doctors and administrators, were faced with the muddiest event in the world and had to do a 10k trail over sixty challenging obstacles.
The challenge took them through mud, water, tunnels, hurdles and tightropes! Before the challenge on the 13th April 2019, Ronald Carrera, Senior Research Nurse with the NIHR SRMRC, said:
“The Research Team are really excited to take on the Wild Mud Run and raise lots of money for QEHB to help patients. Teamwork is a really important aspect of our job and this challenge is definitely going to bring us closer, everyone from the department is getting involved. We hope this will be one of many charity events we take part in this year and we can help contribute to the amazing work that QEHB Charity does.”
For jumping over fire pits and sliding into cold water, the NIHR SRMRC team managed to raise a brilliant £610, which will be divided out between our very worthy QEHB charities. We’ve been reliably assured that in spite of some of the pictures, great fun was had by all!
Well done, guys! You’ve made us all proud!
