Seminar: Managing the injured brain
10 December 2012
The next event in the regular SRMRC seminar series will take place on December 10, featuring Professor Anthony Strong from King’s College London.
The title of Prof Strong’s talk is ‘Spreading depolarisations – tsunamis – in the injured brain; what should we do about them?’
Anthony Strong is Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery at King’s College London. He undertook specialist neurosurgical training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. His principal clinical specialist interests were in the surgery of blood vessels supplying the brain and benign tumours within the cranial cavity.
In parallel with this, he has maintained an active research programme studying basic mechanisms of brain injury. This has continued since his retirement from clinical neurosurgical practice in 2005.
The event will be held in Lecture Theatre 3 at the Education Centre on Level 1 of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Refreshments will be available from 17:00.
